99 Express 1500 Conversion Van 159k Miles

Autocheck lists accident as 'minor issue' but Carfax states:

07/01/2005
Maryland Damage Report Accident reported
Vehicle involved in a rear-end collision Involving front impact
with another motor vehicle Damage reported to:
Front
Left front
Right front
Disabling damage reported

If it was major damage in the accident in 05, I would think he would have stopped driving it.

but the most revealing from the carfax:

03-08 Failed emissions
05-08 Passed emissions
03-10 Passed emissions
06-12 Failed emissions
11-12 Passed emissions
03-14 Failed emissions
07-14 Passed emissions

Of course, it could be nothing, but I don't know without the report from the testing station.  The seller didn't mention any emissions issues in the auction listing, just that he is selling it because he 'bought an RV'.

Disabling damage to the front could be anything from turn signals knocked out to a full airbag deployment and serious front end damage.

Failed emissions could be a bad sensor, or trouble codes on the OBD2 port, or something more expensive like a catalytic converter.

Hard to tell...more questions than answers. With that many miles, its gonna be a gamble anyway.

PRice is already closing in on $3600...imo too high for the age and mileage when you can't even look at the van or have a mechanic go over it.
