Hi, I'm Mark ... my full name is Mark Gunter.
I found Bob's videos some time last year, and was hooked. I've seen most of the videos on the channel, though I understand maybe a lot were lost from a previous channel that I've never seen.
I haven't lurked in these forums, so it may take some time for me to learn how things swing around here. I joined today because I have a question that maybe members can help me with, and I will try to discover the most appropriate place to post it shortly. I suppose I'll post a brief profile about myself here.
I'm 64 years old, born in January 1955. I have long hair and a beard. I am single. I am an amateur musician, having played guitar for over 50 years and having picked up mandolin a few years ago. I have been self employed for about 20 years. I specialize in film finishes, and am a refinisher/restorer/builder of wood products like furniture, cabinetry and architectural millwork. I am slowly building out my van now
I moved out of the house and into the van in January of this year. I got rid of the house (it was rented) on April first. I had lived near Abilene, TX. I currently live at a shop building my son purchased in Sweetwater, TX. I've been here since mid-March. Before that, I lived in the van at my old shop in Cross Plains, Texas, in rest areas, and various Walmart parking lots and at the house I had continued to rent while I was divesting myself of belongings.
I'll be making some trips in the van this year and next, but I plan to have it all ready and become a nomad by January, 2021.
I could probably talk about myself all day and tell a whole lot more, but I would bore myself to death doing that, so if anyone has questions or wants to know more about who I am or what I'm doing, please ask.
I'm loving my van life the past four months, and looking forward to the future. I hope I can be involved with this forum a bit, and hope to get to know the regulars here over time. Enjoy your life and be safe. :heart:
