I see these all over the board anywhere from $39 to thousands of dollars. Does anyone use these and which one?

I have thought about them but the cost is prohibitive and its something else to store.....I use Ziplock baggies and a straw!!

I often see them at Value Village going for a song. ..Willy.

I use the ones with a hand pump. like zip-lock. helps with stuff in the freezer. My hunter girl friend uses one of the electric ones to package dead animal parts. Stuff stays good in the deep freeze for better than a year.

What song I'll sing you one. Thanks when I wasn't looking I saw a lot of them so I guess stop looking and they will re-appear (I want to ship illegal vitamins to a friend in Italy)

I use a foodsaver brand. works good and the bags are good quality. they work good for food and also work for stuff like first aid supplies. they also make hard sided containers for it, these work good for leftovers and soups or things you don't want crushed like grated cheese. I like mine and have been happy with it's performance. highdesertranger

I used (wore out) a Foodsaver. Vac-sealed all kinds of stuff (from clothing to food). Vac-sealed single serving bags of pet food (and kitty litter) and kept it in the car in case we had to pull into a hotel while traveling back and forth in the winter (never needed to but came a bit too close once). We have found that ziplock bags tend to let air in and thawed juices out. I also have the regular and wide mouth jar sealers that will vac seal a flat canning lid on a canning jar. I freeze a lot in canning jars (including my lunches that I take to work). We shop at Sam's Club once a month and fill a 12cf freezer with food. For us it is a good investment. Like Sam's Club, not everyone would get good use out of it. I liked my old Foodsaver and will be getting another one once I figure out where I will be putting it. I have discovered that I need a Foodsaver that can handle many repetitive sealings.

I tried (and still have) the handheld ziplock sealer. Once was enough. I much prefer a Foodsaver. I will most likely get mine from the Foodsaver Outlet store http://www.foodsaver.com/outlet-store

X3 on Foodsaver.
Got mine at Goodwill for $7, looked like it had never been used. I use it to prepare meat for freezing, package dried fruits & veggies, and to freeze single serving meals for later use. Bags are expensive, but less porous and tougher than ziploc bags. Tried the manual ziploc air pump and it just didn't work for me.
I have tried using mylar bags with the Foodsaver, but haven't gotten it to work yet.
