I'm not there yet but, I've been reading and thinking about refrigeration and solar power, among many other things.

This obviously led me to the UNICEF website.  Actually, a teensy, tiny memory of something I heard on the radio a decade or 2 ago led me to UNICEF.  As you've probably heard, vaccines and many medications need to be refrigerated.  In many parts of the world this is difficult or impossible.  For many decades UNICEF has been studying and doing research on alternate ways to refrigerate medications.  Many of these involve solar power.

The vague memory in the back of my mind is a system called Solar Direct Drive (SDD).  SDD uses the solar power to freeze water or some other medium and releases the cold to the refrigerator as needed.  It eliminates the need for a battery.

If you're looking toward a refrigeration/freezer system you can learn a lot hear.  If you're already capable of keeping your drinks cold, you'll still probably find it very interesting.

UNICEF finally used 12V compressor coolers. Habitat stores had used ones for sale after the last big vaccination drive. The SDD technology is not very energy efficient in high ambient temperatures. I have a small unit that cools my LiFePo battery.
