Hi VJ,

I don't know about references. I was taught that by an ol' 2 million miler that consulted at the trucking school where I originally trained. We stayed friends and I learned all sorts of stuff from him, including this bit.

You know the type, career navy, went into transport, retired to civilian life and drove until he dropped, whereon he started teaching. Solid as a granite boulder. I learned more from him than anyone at that school.

He taught me how to drive a 53' reefer thru the Bronx and Boston without getting killed. Good man.

I'll look at your links. Now I'm curious to see if I can do this on my little 4 wheeler Ford's engine. Might melt.
ROFL, the trucker secret is out... cooked on my trucks engine many times... Soup to chilli to hot dogs and burritos... just need a heat proof container or tin foil and you have the oven under your hood...

Thanks for bringing this up...

PS results will vary, but you will over a short time figure it out.... Engines run not as hot as ovens, so experiment, will work while stationary also...

We go wheeling and always put food on the under side of the intake manifold that is about 6" above the exhaust manifold on my Suzuki Sidekick. I have made a hanging basket and we wrap the food in foil and drive. We usually do chicken/beef fajitas, hot dogs, cheese & jalapeno sausage, raviolis and such as. We usually wheel for a 3-4 hr run before stopping for lunch. No one goes hungry on our wheeling trips.

I worked on a drilling rigs years ago and was showed how to cook everything from popcorn on the turbo charger to a roast... we worked 12 hr shifts so there was plenty of time.

I tried making a cup of tea on my work truck engine (after I got to my destination). After working for awhile; I came back expecting a nice cup of tea.---it was barely warm. Folks the engine must be running.
What's the difference between lampliter and DA?
answer---none.
