Hi all,

Bought a For Transit Custom, LWB high roof, 2018, £25,800, for work. We put two back windows in, as we would rather drive with looking out the back. Insurance said on the paperwork, we had to say on modifications, we phoned them and said, they said cos its not now factory type van, the are putting our insurance up £2000 ??? Fathers drives it very little, hes 88, I drive it for works most afternoons, I am 60. Father went into the back of a mini two months ago in old van, no one was hurt. So insurance for old van was £700, new van £1300, now its £2900 ???

Thank you for you help all.

Billythekid.

Britain?

That sounds odd. Did you ask the insurance provider for details on the WHY? And if there's any way to reduce the fee?

Does all auto insurance in your country come from the same source? (Here in the U.S., there are multiple companies, so we can get quotes from several, and compare.)

Hi there,

Looed at so many, and all quotes were so high in the UK, just cos I has back windows in. But I then had some luck, and found comersal van insurers, £900.
