As i alluded to in another forum, i'm trying a different kind of Tape. I've used really cheap stuff, $1 a roll that lasts maybe 3 weeks, good "Duck" brand tape that lasts 4 months (depending on the season), and now i broke down and got a big roll of heavy, white coloured , HVAC stuff the pros use.
I eventually plan to actually put something in the holes, currently shiny black plastic panels, so simulate blackout glass, which i don't need, and never look out of anyway.
I love the fact it's almost the same body colour as Casper, and if one doesn't look too hard, the tape appears to be the body. It will be interesting to see how durable the pro stuff is apposed to the "Duck" brand tape.

Nashua makes excellent tapes. I really like their Flexfix tape. Stretchy sticky and reflective. Great for insulation/ reflectix/ repairing re enforcing window shades

I hear Gaffer's Tape makes even the best duct tape appear to be like a saturated diaper in comparison. Super strong and leaves no residue when removed.

I have yet to buy a roll. My tape stash indicates I have a hording problem already.

I recently bought a roll of the black, Gorilla brand duct tape. The stuff's so strong, I can't tear it off the roll, like "normal" duct tape. I have to cut it. Also, it's the stickiest stuff I've ever seen! Super strong adhesive! I'm sold!

Yup, love the Gorrila Tape! Thumbs up!

I've been a fan of Army 100 Mph tape for a long time but it sounds like that Gorilla Tape has it beat.

i used about 20 rolls inside my van with insulation fastening and for a framing cover for squeaks; gorilla tape ....

i do not know about sunlight exposure ramifications ....

blkjak ....
Gorilla tape--great stuff, except...

I used it as a temporary fix when a lower side panel on the van was torn loose in a car wash. It worked great until it was exposed to direct sunlight. The glue melted and the tape began to "slip". It still held, though. As long as you don't park where the sun shines directly on it for a few hours, it'll be okay. Getting it off was a PIA. I used WD-40 and lots of elbow grease.

It's still my favorite tape, though. I may try the HVAC stuff mentioned above.
Yep, that's exactly right. I forgot about that, but I had a similar experience with it. Used it to tape cardboard over a window in the house, to block out morning sun during this past summer's heatwave, & sure enough, the glue softened & came loose from sunlight exposure. Overall, still the best stuff I've used so far, though.
