presently I have stock powered mirrors, and I get about 1/2 mirrow of road and half camper, I have seen these clip-on extention mirrors but would like to avoid the junky ones
would someone with experience recommend good ones, thank you

Back in the day~~~ West Coast Trucking was the source.

Or go to a junk yard and look for some factory towing mirrors on a wrecked truck?

I agree that any of the clip on mirrors are going to vibrate a lot.  i also have a camper-on-pickup but the mirrors are OK.  I can see the lane next to me right up to the passenger door using a stick on convex mirror.  When I get enough $$$ saved up, I am going to add a backup camera.  I am going to set it up to be controlled from inside the camper.  Combination rearview mirror (on while driving) and security camera (see who's behind the camper).

Somewhere in my travels I have seen a pickup with mirrors attached to the cabover that were positioned out further than the stock mirrors (only works if the overhang is long enough).

You could hijack the Wayback Machine and go change the build card for your truck to towing mirrors  :p

Getting a little queezy about drilling holes in "new to me truck" but very impressive and thank you for the link

I'd look for factory towing mirrors that come on some models. They should be a direct bolt on replacement.  I just picked up a set for my Silverado.

Going from these style stock mirrors to these style towing mirrors

That's the path I'd take, with a newer truck, drilling holes in your doors to mount aftermarket mirrors might no be such a great notion

In the foamies section of tear drops and tiny trailers a guy made some really neat mirror extensions that mounted completely over stock mirrors with no vibration.

Hey Wagoneer,
You might give this style mirror a look... They mount to the over-cab part of your camper. I don't have a clue how to post a link from my phone but here's the part#
