That is the question. Got smoked on a 4kDBPOWER ACTION CAMERA. Perhaps I placed the cart before the horse, no WIFI app available. It was the least expensive component so I bit in for 35 bucks. I have an older Go Pro I could sacrifice, perhaps. I should look at some ex military drones...

wagoneer, I'm not sure I understand your post, but I will say that I do have a drone. I bought the DJI Mavic Pro. Love it so far! I did have to get an adapter for the remote since my phone was too large to fit in the remote as designed. I also have various action cameras including (4) Monster Villain that still work, but the app stopped working for me. I can no longer connect to the cameras, so I end up pulling the microSD card out and reading it directly into my computer. I also have (2) GoPro Hero 3, however I don't have a way to mount them outside of the waterproof case, so they're not much good for audio for me.

I bought this 4k GoPro "style" camera with wifi but cannot find an app to run the connection people on line say give up.

There are two Android apps that seem to be "generic" and work with multiple cameras. One is called, CameraFi by Vault Micro, Inc and the other is called, Symagix2 by Tonypan. These are both apps that I have downloaded for multiple pieces of hardware in the past.

Just been a Mac guy since THE 80'S they started windows, powers that be placed a flawed system "windows" over a perfect system DOS no one wanted to learn. MAC SUCKS NOW TOO

LOL, God what a nightmare DOS was. Every program had to be learned from the ground up, no comnonality in menu design or choices, virtually everyone intimidated to explore the real power of computing. Windows, with its File Edit View Help, was a revolution and a god-send. Clumsy at first, but at least it had a standard and was organized, unlike the insane and sometimes even intentionally perverse chaos of DOS.

Re drones, watch out. An electric unicyclist -- EUC Army perhaps, or anyway the same guy who has multiple electric unicycle channels -- used his drone over State or Federal lands. A ranger with nothing better to do scoured youtube for offenders and set the video'er up with a gigantic fine for using a drone over restricted areas.

Far-fetched, you say? So would most of us believe. Turns out there is a basis for the fear ... a downed drone can cause all kinds of problems, including fire in the very fire-prone west and southwest. And in places that it is all but impossible to reach, given the ability of drones to go more or less anywhere.

At any rate, a huge problem ensued, and you wouldn't want to have to pay the fine for it.

It was quite a scary video by quite an ordinary guy whose videos I've seen many times, and who isn't a scare monger at all.
