Yeap, I'm in Weymouth, born and raised. (If all goes according to plan I'll be out by years end!) Live just down the street from the Landing.

Small world.  I grew up on Front St right up from the Landing.  I moved to South Plymouth for 12 years when I was married and moved back to Weymouth four years ago, I'm now up on Rt 53.  Funny, my plan is to also be out of here by the first of the year.  I'm not sure how realistic that is but I am going to do everything I can to make it happen.

:)

Thank you everyone for your input, you have been so helpful. I promise I won't keep asking about every van I see. hahaha I think I need to wait until I have a little more money and when I see something that looks good I just need to go give it the vibe test. hahaha

You all rock! I'm so happy I found my tribe!

Don't be afraid to keep asking !
Why waste tribal wisdom ?

I loved the times I spent boondocking at the Compass Lounge when my bands played there !
The weather was awesome , and....no bugs!

Buying a van is kind of a spiritual thing.   You need to see it, feel it, sit in the driver's seat and just soak in the vibes.   If you don't feel 100% comfortable, don't buy it.

Every vehicle I've had good vibes from has turned out to be an exceptional vehicle.

Once it's passed the "vibes" test, take it to your mechanic for the final approval.

Wow. That's so true. At least for me it has been. I watched and waited, and studied.  Then I knew, I did it afraid. The previous owners were beyond cool. They held the van for me because they wanted it to be with someone who'd appreciate it.  The mechanic I've trusted since 1997 guided me through like a true friend. I was petrified. After it was done I felt like the world had become new again!
Sure there is always a little buyer's remorse. But it was magical and I know it was the right thing to do.

On that quirk dealership, I read in another thread that in the fine print they stated that a 1999 or newer vehicle had to traded in at that price. I believe it is the second post of this thread https://vanlivingforum.com/Thread-22k-for-a-Brand-new-Chevy-Express?highlight=quirk
There is a car lot here in Las Vegas that sells really nice vans, (at high dollar prices). They say that they get them from utilities and phone companies. Maybe call your local utilities and ask them if they will be selling or auctioning any.

Read this again.
And again.
And again.

If you don't have a good mechanic, find one you can trust. Ask everyone you meet -- if one name keeps coming up, GO THERE!

I also saw that thread.  My car is a 2011 so wouldn't be an issue, other than not wanting to spend $22k on a van (wish I could).
