Hey guys, Not sure if this is the best spot for this post but...
I thought I found a goldmine today on the side of the road. I picked up an AC/DC Fridge (DE250?DE251?DE400?) Norcold brand.
But it looks as if the power supply is not working, at least on 120V (have not checked 12V yet) From the almighty Google it appears to be at least 26 years old but looks in good shape. Has anyone had any experience with this unit? There are two glass fuses on the circuit board that appear intact but I don't have my electrical testers near me right now, any advise would be appreciated before it ends up in the scrap yard.

is it a built in or a chest style? can you see anything obviously blown on the circuit board. can you see any open circuits on the board? highdesertranger

If that is an absorption style fridge, first thing to test is the heating element. They actually cool by heating part of the system.

It is a built in unit and I don't see anything wrong with the board at all. I still need to go get my multimeter and trace the power, see where it ends. The switch in the fridge doesn't light up on 120v. Will try 12v when I get a chance.

I get lucky with finds all the time some people just throw money at it and move on, good luck.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, looks like it's a goner. Can't get any power to it at all A/C or D/C. Something must be fried on the board and I cannot source one anywhere so off to the scrap pile it went...better luck next time.

So in other words, It was worth what you paid for it.  ;)

Things like that I put an ad on Craig's List in the free section in case someone needs one for parts.

Good idea, didn't think about that...next time.
