It's not portable

Really?!? I'll admit it's not very aerodynamic, but the dual axles and four tires it rests on beg to differ. When you take into account that there are many full timers living in travel trailers, and not everyone wants to live the same exact way ... your argument against does not hold water.

Great idea if one can get it legal to pull behind a truck on the public road way. Ran into a Katrina Refugee that build something simular on a dual axle trailer and was living in it as he moved from construction job site to another. The thing that struck me the most about it was its simplisity and inexpensive cost!

but there's plenty of room in a van.

Enough room to exist. There are times when one wants more than just an existence. Just sold our B to get something a little roomier and with 4x4 capability. We loved that van, but it was time to upgrade a bit.

I call BS on van's blending in.

kid needs to go bacjk and study framing 101 ,, looked like the windows where not square, no headers above the doors and windows, no jack studs,, I could go on , dad in the back ground didn't look too happy.

It may not be perfect but it is his and it is done. Gotta give him credit for that!

I agree. This is something for him to be proud of and he has a good grasp of living small and walking tall.

Good for him!!

There are so few teeneagers who have the gumption to tackle a project of this size and magnitude...and for such a valid reason too!

to all you naysayers out there...what huge undertaking did you take on and complete at 16 years old that pushed your life foreward in such a positive manner, as this kid's project will??
