So the kids are out of the house and I've been thinking of downsizing to a smaller place :D . Right now I'm in a cargo van and looking at the compact cargos. My plan is to do some work camping and travelling and I just think getting good gas mileage would be a good thing. My biggest thing about keeping my stealth game is being able to get in the back of the van without getting out. I'm a big boy so climbing over to the back on these smaller vans could be a pain. Is there anyone that has a smaller van that they get in the back without getting out?

I get in the back of my Prius without getting out by leaning the driver's seat as far back as possible and sliding backward to my bed. Then reaching around the side of the driver's seat to release the seat back to its up position.

I'm in a former bus/van where my seat is so close to the doghouse that I have to hike my foot up and over the corner of the engine covering. But is it do-able and I've been glad to have that access at least once.

One question for you -- could you do without the passenger seat in a smaller van? If you don't need the seat for an occasional passenger and don't plan to use it on a swivel so you can have a lounge chair, then you only have to worry about how much the console is in the way.

Putting the seatback back a bit I didn't think of so that could work. I've looked into the swivel seats as well and that is an option. My layout would be that my bed is on the passenger side so I've even thought of the bed being high enough I could just climb onto it.
