I have in my van conversion a "toe kick" electric heater (450 watt) for times I'm plugged into shore power on cold nights. My current thermostat (just a simple dial type) is terribly inaccurate (off by about 10 degrees). Also, the dial is supposed to go down to 40 degrees, but since it is off by 10, it really only goes down to 50. While in winter "semi-storage", I would like to keep the temps inside above freezing, but now as high as 50 (maybe around 36-38).
Can someone recommend an accurate thermostat that can be set to around 38? (It would have to accomodate 12 gauge wiring).
