For those of you who missed all the fun here in the Northeast the last few days, here's a one minute Youtube video someone shot at the train station right down the road from me - an Amtrak Train pulling into Rhinecliff Station for the first time after the storm suspended train service . . .

I did not miss it. I think its time for a location change.

Comparing US vs Japan snow removal techniques, and customer service attitude from public services

if you're in a hurry skip to 3min

that operator needs to be removed, could of derailed the train and most likely injured some people

Probably SOP, that's **how** they clear the tracks below a certain height, beancounting rules (in Amerika) these days, fruits of privatization.

NOPE!  Trains run through snow like that all the time.  Remember how the snow squashed down when you stepped on it?  Guess what happens when a locomotive weighing a hundred tons rolls over it?  It takes a lot more than that, esp packed + ice.  Light stuff just flies away.

But you could see what was going to happen -- why didn't those people MOVE?

Too anxious to capture the moment for their "social" media.

Huge numbers now die daily worldwide taking selfies. Darwin at work, I reckon good for us and the planet. . .
