I realize that this topic has been discussed to death on here. However, I did see a television commercial this past week from T-Mobile. It opened with a sparsely populated coverage map and said "You think you know T-Mobile...well think again" and the map was replaced with one shaded almost entirely in pink supposedly indicating incredible coverage improvements over the past year or so. Do any of my friends out west find this to be true? Is T-Mobile worth taking another look at? I am relatively spoiled I suppose with Verizon...but they are sooooo expensive and it seems like every unlimited or halfway reasonably priced high gig data plan use T-Mobile's network.

I have a device with TMO on it because it is suppose to pick up their band 12 in the mountains. So far it has been a job to use it here in town as the towers are often congested. The only time I have had it up in the mountains it lost signal as we left the metro area and didn't pick one up again until we were just outside of the town we were going to.

On that trip I had Verizon the whole time, occasionally Sprint and Cricket showed a signal but had no service much of the way.

I used t mobile in the past and they sucked go around corners the phone would roam on att or loose signal all together. service was so bad I paid to get out of the contract!!! never again

The coverage map on their website still looks like it did several years back. Very bad out west. I had T-Mobile 3-4 years ago and coverage was bad in Utah, Nevada and Arizona once you got out of major cities. Not sure about other states.

The "new junk" just has a "new name" but it's still the "old junk"

and they charge for sim cards as well i think it's $20.00 um no thanks there's no way in hell that i am paying for something that i need to make my device work!! i walk into an AT&T corperate owned store and have gotten a few sim cards at no cost to me

i could see using t-mobile if your in and stay in a metro area but if you travel alot then i would go with verizon or AT&T
