The Holy Grail of running AC on solar power alone

I was talking to my son about the frequent, regular threads of CRVL members wanting to run air conditioning solely off of batteries and solar panels.  He said "why don't they just make that subject a sticky?"  Out of the mouths of babes... 

So? It would save a ton of repetitive keystrokes.
