Well I have been tenting it a lot lately. Just returned from a month in the back woods of Maine. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Even the jeep breaking was a good time. Just added a few days in one place while waiting for the UPS truck to find me! LOL Had many storms to weather and not a drop inside except what came in on our boots. Tent withstood a few high winds, hail and hurricane like rains.

The canvas tent stirs many memories. Hope to tent it as long as this ol carcass can tolerate it. The high humidity of the east does take a toll. I'm right at home in the dry southwest. Can't wait to return there.

Here is some pictures of my old tent I stayed in when I was working in Birmingham. Just donated it last month.

We carry a tent as a guestroom, or for when the bugs are particularly thick and we want to sit outside: just leave the sides down and don't put up the overhead tarp. Other than that, I prefer the convenience of parking and being done with setup. Too many things to do to waste time setting up every day or two.

Posted some pics of my canvas on my blog:

http://twokniveskatie.blogspot.com/2012/06/favorite-tents.html?m=1

I got them out of order but you should be able to figure out by the discription.

Katie - Great pics and YEA for Rendezvous Camps !! Ever go to any camps around Ohio ?

I normally just set up a small Lean to canvas or a Diamond. Ideally I try to Pack Camp.

good times there. yep

Closest I've been to Ohio was the eastern primitive at raccoon creek state park near Pittsburgh. Love the EPR's! You ever been to any in PA?

Just been to camps here in west central Ohio, Ft Rowdy, Piqua Heritage Festival, Call to Liberty, Ft. Loramie, a few other small camps. I like the small rendezvous more than the large crowded ones. I camp light with my One Man Camp aka Noisy Camp #2, lol I have friends with all the other stuff and full settler camps and such. Big marquis and wall tents. I can't see the point in carrying around hundreds of pounds of cast iron. A Diamond fly, bedroll, drums, butt flap and beverages is good for me. Like everything else in my life I think less is more and tend to be a minimalist. It is definitely great fun tho ! Haven't had a chance to get to any camps this year... yet because I am saving up for a van. I'll have to find and post some of my pictures of camp.

I decided to start a thread about this subject. It is very dear to my heart. I used to be a panther primitives vendor and was outfitted to the max. Now I too travel light.... Oilskin diamond fly, copper canoe pot, squirrel cooker, brazier....
