Hey guys. Life's been pretty hectic since we bought the van. I've been coming back here regularly to lurk though haven't found the time to post anything. Unfortunately, I have no wisdom to give so for now I'll just stick to asking questions. I hope one day I can share some information with you all in return!

So we bought a '98 Ford E350 (Not sure if I mentioned that previously) and I was wondering how hard it would be to install swivel seats for both the passenger and driver sides? It's not a power type van, crank windows, manual seat adjusting and all that so I don't think there will be any wires to get in the way on the seats or anything. To give you an idea of what I'd be interested in installing it'd be something like this http://www.sportsmobilestore.com/ford-swivel-seat-base/ maybe cheaper if I could find it.

So yea, what do you all suggest? Drivers side and passenger side? Only one? Neither? Thanks in advance.

-KMF

Thanks for the advice. Safety first. Looks like there will be no moving seats in my van.

I got the discountvantruck swivel seat for the passenger side. I rarely if ever have passengers, so the fact that it's not an OEM mount is ok for me.

It was just a simple unbolting the seat, removing the factory base, bolting up the new base. Everything lined up just fine, but I do have to go back and trim the floor mat. My van is a 97 and has passenger air bag, so there is a wire that connects to the seat, but it has enough slack for the seat to swivel with no binding.

I'm a big guy, and it doesn't move any more than I would expect when I sit in it. The only issues I have with it are it doesn't lock in the rear facing position (which is actually good because there is no gap between the arm rest and door handle, so being able to angle it wherever I want is actually good), and the seat has to be in a perfect position in its slide and recline to clear both the B-pillar and doghouse while rotating. Once it's facing rearward you can slide it to give you more room, and recline the back.
