The ongoing saga of my broken arm has a new twist. I will have one last surgery May 16th. And after that there will be legal wrangling over a final settlement with the Insurance Company, that could drag on for months.

The bottom line is I can't leave California to go to Colorado. So I am going to move the RTR to the Sierra National Forest above Fresno, CA. The nearest town is Shaver Lake, CA. I was a campground host there for 3 years and it is a wonderful place.

I'm considering holding it at Sawmill Flat campground. It is a free campground that is gorgeous, but pretty remote (25 miles to the nearest town with cell phone or wifi). Here is it's website:
http://tinyurl.com/cjww8ul

I'm sorry to do this at the last minute but when life throws you a curve ball you either adapt to it or you strike out. This is the adaption. Bob
ACK! I am so sorry about the changes. I know you hate to disappoint and I'm sure you were looking forward to visiting Colorado, again.

New link for info
http://cheapgreenrvliving.com/Rendezvous_Summer_2012.html

Keep us posted about the surgery.

Dealing with insurance and government agencies causes huge stress for me. I hope the dealings are simple and painless as is the surgery.

Bummer about not being able to leave CA, but I know Shaver Lake very well. There's some great camping to be had there and it's a gorgeous spot for the next RTR.

Remote is good by me!

Gah, hope all goes well in your future dealings with the insurance company. Fight the good fight!

Thanks a lot man. I am so stoked to go and meet more travelers. And it gives me a destination instead of just going anywhere with no plans.
I'm/ we are going to try and make it. It's around the right time for when we will be moving northward . . . it's just on the wrong side of the mountains
Looks like crossing through Yosemite would be the way to cross?
Would have to leave early to get to the Black Rock by the 4th.
Remote is good and preferd by us
