You could also use up one can of sterno, turn that can into usable for denatured alcohol and have a fairly stable alcohol stove with heat exchanger pot...nice find. It looks like reviewer kindle customer did that (with other stove) and had good results.
 
Many decades ago we had a driver who was heating some food over a sterno can in the cab of his truck and somehow he brushed some curtains or clothing or something into the flames and caught the interior on fire and had to bail out. 

It took him years to get over his new nickname/CB handle: Sterno!

Be careful in the close quarters of the interior of a vehicle if you use it that way.

Yes, lots of people have done just that.  Boil time seems to be about half with a Tangia-type burner.  (Not for me, though.)

Thank you, tx.  Good reminder!  In general, I feel gelled alcohol (Sterno) is safer than liquid, but it could be really hard to deal with if it gets spread out.  NO flames in the van for me.  Period.  Outside, I tie back my hair, etc.
