specific gravity tester protective case

I found this on google images and it made me think a car stereo face plate protective case would be the perfect size to protect the float

After rinsing the Hydrometer and float, I put the float back in the glass tube surrounded in the foam it came in, slide the bulb all the way down the glass, and put it back in the plastic bubble packaging with sliding cardboard back that the unit shipped in.


But the floats are certainly fragile.

I broke mine when i pushed the float foam combo too deep and tried to retreive it with some tweezers.  Crushed the tip of it.

Might use it today on a friends battery whose vehcicle sat for 2 months and needed a jumpstart. It exhibited weird acceptance issues when I busted out the meanwell on it.


It is the maintenance free type but does have screw caps.
