I've read about this product being used as pictured but not on van walls and ceiling.

comments were good regarding making the vehicle quieter and reducing heat transfer. Might be a good choice.

in high traffic areas the foam breaks down. I have no idea about using it on walls and ceilings. they give no R value? highdesertranger

Trying to find an R-value comparison (since the company didn't see fit to include it), REI's closed-cell foam mats (one w/aluminum surface) have R values of 2.6 to 2.8 for 0.6" thickness. Polyiso's R-value for 1/2" is 3 (1" = 6).

Car Insulation = $1.41 per sq ft.
Polyiso at Home Depot = $0.43 per sq ft (both about 1/2" thickness).

I sent an email to the Car Insulation company, and the contact person said it had an R value of 1, with dead air space probably a bit more.
