How's it going I'm Jason, 38 from the west coast I work seasonally as a truck driver for a produce company mid summer to Halloween long hours and only sporadic days off but the work pays well, enough for me to comfortably take the rest of the year off. This year when the season ended I found myself single my long time girlfriend and I had split the sheets, so I loaded up my explorer with my boats and bikes and headed south to chase down some of the summer I gave up. I've been bouncing around Sacramento and Reno near where my daughters live so I can be close to them first time in years. It's nice to e free to watch their plays and games and still be able to jaunt over to the coast and kick back. I have a new girlfriend now one that embraces my life style choices I'm going to go full time at the end of this season. The Explorer is to small for my desires so I'm going to upgrade I've got a dodge pick up in storage in Seattle. I guess I'll put some money into getting it in tip top shape and then look for a trailer to tote behind I'm considering converting a cargo trailer into a suitable stealthy home. I'm hoping to make an appearance at the RTR next month my nephew is flying in the same week... So I'm hoping to find a few days towards the end to stay a night or two. I'm looking forward to learning from you all with any luck I'll have a fully solar self sufficient set up to drift around in in about 5 months!

Welcome Jason, looking forward to hearing about your adventures and triumphs

Welcome from New Mexico Jason. Glad to have you. Are you thinking an actual travel trailer or a utility trailer built into a rolling home?
Bri
I think seasonal workers are ideal for the vandwelling life. Work really hard part of the year and play/travel really hard the rest of the year! Sounds like the perfect life to me. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help or questions we can answer. Bob
Welcome Jason. Glad you have a girlfriend now that likes your lifestyle. You have got it good working a short time then having the rest of the year off. Take advantage of it.

Hey Jason, welcome to the forum. I hope we don't have to wait 5 mints to hear from you again...

Thanks for all the wonderful welcomes! I am very grateful for my freedom I love working seasonally

bk2valve: I plan on buying a utility trailer but I'm still planning, if I stumble across the right deal on a suitable RV or camp trailer I may still go that route but building my own home in a trailer is the most appealing to me. I'm pretty flexible I've weighed the pros n cons of each, its the stealthy-ness of a utility trailer that I believe could be worth the extra effort and initial cost.
