I'm soon to be a stealth camper, and will be camping "rough". I used to be a van dweller in a old econoline, but it gave up on me, so here we go again! I've been a lurker here up until now, so wanted to say hello!

Hi Nooneleft, Welcome to the madhouse!

Welcome!!!

Good meeting you nooneleft. Rough camping's definitely a moneymaker. Good luck.

Hi nooneleft...glad to have you with us and you will fit right in here...in the madhouse as Les calls it...lol
We are crazy but we enjoy it, not suffer from it...lol
Bri

If you don't mind me asking, what is "rough camping"? Are we talking sleeping in the national forests with a tent or do you mean you are getting another camper van to replace the one that gave up on you?

We will be homeless by choice in 2 years 363 days so just trying to get a good sense of how people live.

Edit: Oh realized this was an introduction thread! Hi and welcome!

Welcome to the group nooneleft! Hope you find van dwelling the same as you did before this return to the "mobile" life.

Hi Nooneleft,
Welcome back to to the lifestyle!
Hugs
>
Living Houseless by choice, for the last 28 yrs!

Hi nooneleft.

Welcome!

Please keep us updated on what you are doing and where you are, when you can. I'd love more input on 'rough camping' by folks who are doing that. Will you have a bike or another mode of transport?

Rough camping is what you do when you do not have a vehicle, and you're relying on your camping and survival skills. I have 6 yrs in the u.s. army so I will rely on my training. I do have a mt.bike and will get to work that way from my stealth site.

Ah, so you are Les Stroud

Welcome!
My choice to do this is out of the desire to save more cash and be more stable. It's worked out well. I consider my van a fully paid home... It's small, but hey, I owe zero dollars.
In some ways, I consider myself lucky to be debt and mortgage free. I'm not required to cough up a fixed sum each month and it's been great.

Good luck!
