Rode dirt bikes since I was 8 & later raced class A MX @ Redbud & other tracks. Cost about $20 to camp & enter & IF I won the most points in all 3 races I got no trophy but $60. I raced CanAm 250s with Rotax engines made in Austria & have flown behind many Rotaxes, I Have one on my Weedhopper. Redbud is a world class track. https://redbudmx.com/ I had a '66 chevy van with a CVT transmission so power on the ground all the time & pull start
home made bike trailer. I"d park next to motor homes with workshop trailers & mechanics, spare bikes, etc. I loved it
but couldn't go pro as I was still in high school and working. I did many HARE Scrambles at another track which is a 3 hour race with 1 loop around the MX track & a 5 mile loop thru the woods on single track. Here's a rare one (about 350 MXers built) 1976 ROKON 340 it's the only one with a CVT trans & pull start. Very fast!
eBay item number:296976033372 I later owned their 2WD with tractor tires for bear hunting. It would climb over a car, 55 gal drum, climb a tree until about 2' than slide down, an amazing machine still made. Mine had 6 gal drum wheels you could put extra fuel in or empty it would float, just slip off the back while holding the handlebars & the tractor tires would move you thru the water at 4- 5 mph. it had a chryster 2 stroke superbee racing go cart engine, pull start, no suspension & weighed 165#. I could easily pick it up & cradle it. It would climb 60 deg grades with no problems. I enjoyed a lot of hill climbing back then too but before the Rokon.
