Well, I finally tried the Simple Shower.
This makes three different ways I have gotten clean in camp - garden sprayer, bucket and sponge, and Simple Shower.
My experience? I can get clean and fresh with about a gallon of water, using any of the three methods. It's easy to boil a quart or so of water, add it to 3 quarts of unboiled water, and get a gallon of comfortably warm water. If I had short hair, it would take even less water.
My conclusion? I prefer the bucket and sponge. Much less fiddly.
