Hey everybody, I am converting my Ford E250 into a camper. Right now it is mainly for weekend trips and a 7000mile road trip I am planning in May(but we will see if I can give it up after my trip). Any help with electrical equipment or suggestions of places I must see on my trip would be great.

hey shaun! welcome! you may never be able to give it up, not completely! it gets in your blood! i look forward to hearing about your adventures. for your tech questions, you may want to post them in the specific forums where you will be more likely to get answers. the intro threads tend to scroll off fairly quickly......

Hi Shaun, be careful, once this life gets in your blood, it is very hard to give it up. Once I got bit, I was ruined for living in houses for life. There are so many beautiful places in this country but here are a few of my favorites:
*The 5 National Parks in southern Utah UT
*Grand Canyon AZ
*All of the Rockies in Colorado-Best time of the year is in mid-July when the wildflowers bloom--Stunning!! Love Leadville and Crested Butte!!
* Yellowstone/Tetons NP
* Yosemite NP CA
* Alabama Hills near Lone Pine, CA
* Roan Mountain on the Tennessee/ North Carolina border in Mid-June during the Rhodadendrum bloom. Stunningly beautiful!!
*New England in the fall: peak color varies by year but generally late September.October
*Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall: generally in mid to late October.
* Acadia NP, Maine
* Tuscon/Phoenix in the spring wildflower bloom: generally late February to March Especially Superstition mountains near Phoenix and Saquarro NP near Tuscon.

I think you are both right. We will see if I can manage to go back to the old routine once I am home.

Thanks Bob! Some of those places I was already planning on hitting, but some I have never heard of. I will definately research them and bring back lots of pictures.

Hi Shaun! I am 3.5 hours south of you and went through Sac in December. Les Schwab Tires is mostly in OR, WA and ID, but one store in Sacramento. In Oregon, I had them do all my brakes, shocks and tires. They even "gave" me a used tire a couple of times when I only needed one for a beater vehicle! Great company. Some beautiful places I recommend are. . Silver Creek Falls state park and the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Hwy. (built in the 1930's), both in Oregon. Highway 1, and the Redwood forests of Northern California. Entire Oregon coast. Yosemite and Kings Canyon National Park if you are willing and able to climb steep trails. Above all is Yellowstone National Park.
Have fun.
jb
