I have a large collection of chalcedony from a Wyoming trip 8-9 years ago.

Where do you find pudding stones in Michigan?

They can be found along the shores of Drummond in our forests and anywhere earth has been turned. Drummond is known as the Gem of the Huron and at the center of her crown is the Puddingstone.

I hope the OP tolerates this digression from seashells, we will try to be brief.

Well, I don’t know where you find pudding stones, because I have yet to find one in spite of diligent efforts.

I have seen turned fields and been tempted to go searching in them, but have restrained myself.

I have been to Drummond Island, where items made from pudding stones are a hot commodity, so it may be that they are rapidly picked up as soon as turned earth or whatever exposes them.

I did see one peeking out of the ground a couple of years ago, but it was on private property so I of course did not dig it up nor even try to see how big it was.

I think they are gorgeous, and would love to find one.

Maybe this year.
