A whole lot of people must have seen it, as the picture has cropped up everywhere.

Reminds me of someone I met this winter... mobile hoarder

First saw this a couple years ago, with several photos of the guy and his sweet dog. He was a victim of sudden homelessness, and was trying to get to another state with the few things he owned.

FEW things he owned? haha

This is a great way of explaining how much our 'stuff' stresses us out and (literally in this case) weighs us down.

I know the simple life isnt for everyone, But I'm sure glad I found it before my suspension went out or my car got blown off the highway.

On a side note, has anyone else here ever seen someone they used to know on the "People of Walmart" site?

I was surprised to find a girl I took out in high school caught wearing a Go-Go dancer type outfit with her mother embarrassingly showing wayy too much chest. I can only hope they were on their way to a Halloween party but the site doesn't give the context of the situation very often. It wouldn't be as funny.

I think that's grandma strapped to the top under that tarp!!! Anyone seen her?

I'll not judge him. Especially not knowing his story. If I was down on my luck and trying t I get as many of my possessions somewhere to start over, I would do the same thing. Hell, I have been compared to the Clampetts a few times, what with totes and dry bags and lumber and kayaks strapped every which way on the rondyvan.

I don't think this issue is one of aesthetics but one of safety. The load does not look well secured.

Absolutely. I remember wondering how it could possibly be legal the first time I saw it. I wish I could find the link....there were several picks from different angles.

Rae- maybe grandma is holding everything on!

There has been a couple times when we've loaded a tiny pickup with the entire contents of a house Makes this look reasonable...oh the sweet sweet power of duct tape. We went from baltimore to no where virginia with 2 pickups stacked so high it was insane. We literally just wrapped the whole back of the trucks in duct tape

Still can't believe we didn't get stopped, but I don't know, i think you can only get in trouble for loads to the side or extending from the back without flags. I think vertical is ok.

Sometimes you do what ya gotta do.

been there...done that...
not exactly the same but I know how it is to be short on cash and needing to get someplace with all my stuff to get a job.
Even though my stuff was not worth anything to anyone else it had functional value to me and could not be replaced easily.

Would definitely hate to get nailed by a side-wind with that setup. I've driven a few places where they had signs up warning about possible side-winds of 60+ MPH, and got hit by a few when driving a hightop camper-van.. who needs drugs with THAT kind of adrenaline buzz. ..Willy.

Did not know Huggy Bear was moving. Nice park job in the handicapped spot.

hey now, that's not a big thing in mexico, alot of people travel that way!!! anyhoo you got to do what you got to do ? we all might end up that way in our traveling lifesyle. gary

I guess we can't really judge as we haven't walked in these people's shoes, but we can decide for ourselves that we wouldn't want to live this way, tied down by all the stuff we've accumulated, whether we actually need them or not. to me that's not much of a life.
