I would like to think my dreams are always alive and well, whether they come true or not, and saving, well that is not the easiest thing to do with so many self-inflicted responsibilities that seem to happily multiply in the night while I'm sleeping...
I've had 2 stepvans so far -- back when I was twenty-something, my then sig o and I bought a step-van for next to nothing. It was a piece of cake to manifest as there was virtually no other responsibility in the way. I forget how it all happened, but the result was a neat, on the cheap, homemade everything that worked great. It was like camping inside instead of outside. I had my daughter in it. Later we tore everything out and used it to haul downed trees for a firewood business.
Then, in my thirty-somethings and single, I built it up, again on the cheap, and took off for lots of adventures, though I parted with the van after a couple of years.
In my forty-somethings, I bought another, but the timing wasn't right and I never did fix it up. It was a lesson about desire without conviction and I had other long-term responsibilities that took precedence. I ended up giving it away.
Now, in my sixty-somethings, I'm 'dreaming' of how I'd design my next one and what I'd do and where I'd go. I have no doubt I could turn this from a dream into my reality if and when I set my intention and plan, and that's for me to decide, just as you are doing, TechDog.
So here's an early New Year's toast to all for dreaming and saving!
