Some photos from a visit to the Charlestown navy yard in Boston (where the USS Constitution "Old Ironsides" and the WW2 destroyer Cassin Young are on display).

USS Cassin Young

The Cassin Young is open for tours. The Constitution is, alas, undergoing restoration and is currently closed to tours.

Way Cool!
I played with the 2nd Marine Division Band on the deck of Old Ironsides during a 4th of July celebration, many years ago.

Me <---- Jealous

;)

I am quite disappointed that I didn't get to do a tour of the ship. She won't be open to the public again until sometime in September.    :(

If you're still in that neck of the woods, you should skip down to Battleship Cove to visit the USS Massachusetts.

And there's also the Submarine Museum at New London, as well as the Coast Guard Academy . . .

I did indeed visit the sub museum and toured the Nautilus.  :)

I am now in Albany, planning to visit several of the Revolutionary War battlefields that are nearby (and the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome).
