Well I just typed a whole thing and it disappeared. Looking for instruction/info/community/ideas!

Want to experiment with vehicles until then, make some mistakes etc before I’m on the road permanently. I want to die underneath the open sky where we belong. Until then, I will migrate around, enjoying beautiful places and among people who understand the need to be free.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Lizduggan! Read through all of the sections that are of interest to you then feel free to ask questions about anything. We're here to help! Will you be working as a traveling nurse?

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

After learning the hard way, if I'm typing a long post, I'll type it in notepad, saving often. When finished, just cut n paste to forum.

This is a problem with some forums.  On those I've moderated or set up in the past in the back end (pending on the board host) there is a setting to retain drafts so they aren't lost.

What I have found here is if mine disappears usually from a combination of key strokes (somehow) that I can hit the back button (Ctrl Z doesn't get it)  and then hit the forward button to return.  Often the draft reappears.

Welcome! Sorry about the "disappearing" post...but glad you are here. We are all learning as we go.. I haven't even started the fun part yet...still working full time, BUT I have made a decision to start downsizing..selling off a lot of stuff that I used to LOVE...but now...I see I don't need and cringe at the $ I spent!!! So my first steps into this is....STOP buying stuff!! and get rid of stuff lol Other than that...bank as much $ as possible.

Many people on youtube and instagram focus on the big picture, romanticism, and grand landscapes.

But to learn about the daily life;

What I suggest is to go to the nearest vacant gravel road or national forest. Just find any random place to pull over and sit there on your days off. Dont go to a campsite, find am area to pull over. Next weekend find a truck stop and sit there for a night. Then drive to a walmart, cracker barrel, etc and sit there for another night.

Thats 90%+ of what you will be doing on a day to day level. A great number of people seem get around this mundaneness by driving every day or nearly every day.
