The perfect stove! After purchasing more than a few stoves, each of which just didn't work for me, for use in my E-150, I know exactly what I want. I want a propane, one burner, with side windscreens, a lid that closes securely, 10,000 BTU's, and is less than 14" x 14" x 6" in size. I have spent many hours on the net, in stores, RV/camping gatherings, and have struck out.

If you can tell me where I can get such a stove, the Big Reward is...my Undying Gratitude.

Thanks!

Well, it got me looking. Most of the time you will have to make your own wind screen. except the Volcano -
http://www.volcanogrills.com/collapsible-stove/grill-catagory-page

Several single burners that sit low BUT you will need to make or buy a wind screen. Like this one. Expensive but may last longer. I have problems with the burner wearing out in a year of heavy usage. -

Single Propane Gas Stove for Outdoor or Indoor Cooking by Tar Hong

http://www.amazon.com/Single-Propan...amp;sr=8-120&keywords=single+stove+burner

James AKA Lynx

wow you want to use a 10,000 btu stove inside a van? you could always use a camp chef but they put out like 60,000 btu. then the recipe would be disaster. highdesertranger

there is a drop in stove with a lid that is over $ 230. I do not understand why you want a wind screen inside the van.

I have seen one burner stoves in RV's. If you want to convert one check NorthStar.

James AKA Lynx

James--I actually considered that stove. If I can't find what I'm wishing for, that one is one of the serious next besters. The reason I want the wind screen is because I want to be able to use it outdoors and it also acts as protection against something accidentally touching the flame when indoors. With a lid and side screens, that leaves only the top and front exposed.

ranger--lol! 10,000 BTUs inside? Sure, very carefully and never on high when inside. But it gives me the power if I take it outdoors.

I'm now using the old standby Coleman two burner, but it's such a space hog and I never use both burners. If I could cut it in half...it'd be perfect. Decent quality, simple and easy to use.

Come to think of it, that describes the perfect man, too! Alas...also not to be found and certainly not to be cut in half ;-)

Gratitudes to you both.

I suggest that you buy the small square one and find a metal box and make it work for you. Not much market for the single burner.

James AKA Lynx

p.s. stargazer, are you close to SE Texas?

I'll just keep using old reliable for now, I suppose.

I do spend some time in SE TX. I'm not there very often, though. Right now, I'm in western Colorado, waiting for the snow in the high deep forests to melt and let me in!

Lol, ranger. It's the Internet, ya?

I will probably get the $ 100 one in time. I have 2 single burners and 2 double. I should let those wear out first. maybe.

I hope to be out and about in a couple of years.

James AKA Lynx
