Hey everybody just dropping by to introduce myself (Quintin) and my fiance (Logan), we're just a couple of young dreamers from Michigan getting ready to start van life together. Going Saturday to pick up our new to us 1991 gmc vandura g20 and start the conversion process! I am a mechanic/laborer/construction goon, and Logan is a cashier/seamstress/fry cook, so our skill sets compliment each other nicely. We are both 22 and tired of the way society wants us to live, and have been for a while. So to hell with out! Taking our piece of the american dream!

appreciate the kind words man, we're going to need the luck part!

Welcome to the CRVL forums Quintin and Logan! Congratulations on your start to the new American dream! We do expect pictures of your build progress. :)

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to CRVL :)

And congratulations to both of you for realizing so young that the cottage with the white picket fence that requires working three jobs to just afford to live in,  isn't the answer any longer.  Mobility and the freedom to use the Grid on your own terms is the new LIBERTY.  You've realized something a lot of others may wake up to 20 years from now.  And there is still plenty of space left to find your piece of the dream in it.

Horace Greeley is credited with writing, "Go West Young Man go West" !   There may still be something to that
as shown in this link to a photo of the USA taken from space late at night.   A good indicator of where society ends and freedom begins.  (and do check out the two links at the bottom of this post)

Hi, welcome, and best of luck getting started.  Make sure to keep us updated.

I wish at your age I had known what you do right now.  Not that I'm that old(or I am and forgot), but I did waste a lot of time on foolishness.  Your piece of the American dream sounds like the best piece!

Hey everybody! Just a quick update, Logan and I retrieved our 1991 gmc vandura 2500 today for the tune of $1150. Runs great, 132k on the odometer, body needs some rust repair, inside was filtyyyy. Got all the interior cleaned up and the previous owners attempt at carpet removed, needs a lot of little stuff buttoned up, but overall a great base. Pics to come in the morning! (or afternoon, sall the same  :p)

I pray you are a blessing to each other and encourage each other. Sometimes I wish I was staring again with a new van!

okay, one more update guys, me and logan talked and feel our blog would make a better place to start a build thread, as we tell our backstory and everything over that way, check it out at www.vansion.blogspot.com! Just dont feel like it makes sense to post parallel information, and Logan plans to update quite frequently, where im balls deep in van all day everyday!
