Just received the last ordered item for my solar install.
Do these come in different sizes, or is there just one size?
This is a lot bigger than what I was expecting.
Thanks!

thats the right size, its the same size as the one i got. The only smaller ones are the ones that only have 1 wire conduit.

Just a thought ... it's bigger than you expected, but is it bigger than you need?

Keep in mind that moderately stiff cables need to make a suitable radius inside the housing and not induce undue pre-load or other stress that would potentially cause leaks or cable failures.

Will it not fit? Just asking. :)

I am just collecting the items.
My BIL is visiting next month and he is going to install the system for me.
I understand what you are saying. I appreciate your explanation.
I just wanted to make sure I got the correct one so we do not run into a snag when he is ready to install. I am trying to have everything needed when he gets here.
This is just much bigger than I expected it to be. I guess it just looked smaller to me in the videos.
Thanks!

As others have said, it's within the normal range. The only issues a larger-footprint "gland" might cause would be clearance, and fitment on roof ribs. Clearance would only be an issue if roof real estate was severely limited.

I had a larger-than-average gland (giggle) and the open section underneath was too wide to seal on a roof rib where I (stubbornly) wanted it. I could have mounted it sidways closer to the edge of the roof where there is more flat space, but I ended up getting a different design that I could seal on a single rib the way I wanted it. I gave away the original gland on the RTR free pile.

Do you have a link to the item you mentioned? I would like to compare if possible.

Has anyone placed the gland right under the rain gutter on the side of the van rather than put a hole in their van roof?
