Part of what I gave away while thinning down my "STUFF" was a cardboard box FULL of National Geographic maps from 1916-2008. They were sorted and separated in manila envelopes. I also gave away a 6 full size Atlas' too.

Besides all the maps and Atlas's I've bought over the years, last winter someone gifted me a box with almost every USGS topo map produced for Colorado. My younger son and I were in heaven going through them and finding places we've been, and places to go. My older son has yet to dis over the box. We're all mapoholics.

dang do you have any idea what that box is worth? I would guess over 5k easy. highdesertranger

Maps....
When I was young (10 yrs old?) My dad had a box full of maps because he was an avid motorcyclist and took many trips. Anyway, I loved looking at them. I would often draw my own maps of my neighborhood (not your typical neighborhood ). Anyway, it's amazing how many adults I know that don't use, or have ever used maps. You would be shocked (I am) of how many new truckers don't carry a road atlas...GPS only....which is why so many end up in places an 18 wheeler shouldn't be. Anyway, both my vehicles have road maps and top maps in my tacoma. I'm happy to know others like maps like I do.

It says there on that image that Cyndi posted that six "guzzlers (game waterers)" are included on the maps. I have to confess my ignorance here. Why are these points of interest? For wildlife watching? Watering horses maybe? Something else?
