Be careful out there!

GFS model for next weekend showing a large moisture plume reaching from tropical pacific to Southern California, including Arizona.

How accurate will it be this far out? I know not but this last rain event was forecast fairly accurate in scope and timing.

Have a look see, and consider the possibility of more desert rains for the start of the RTR.

are they letting all that fresh water go to the sea or is there a reservoir?

goes into the Colorado River. so yes it goes into a reservoir. or it will soak into the ground. highdesertranger

Well, it didn't get over here. I'm on the Colorado. Parker dam, way north of us has been keeping the water. I wonder where Quartzsite water went. We thought the river would rise. Maybe tomorrow morning?

unfortunately the Colorado is not a wild river it rises and falls according to the need for electricity. a side note for Diane I just talked to Missnout looks like she will be at RTR. highdesertranger

According to the following video, CA may be due for a big flood:

Not going there.  Broken clock equation.

I grew up there. The place that always seemed to make the news was Artesia Blvd, where the clever devils built the road in a natural river bed. When it floods, it reverts to its old habits. Planning for naturally-occurring problems is not what local govt do best -- they just follow the money, like a dog following a guy with a hamburger.
