Ah so, I can't think of any lava areas close by, maybe OR or ID, . I should think everything is so much in flux right now, one can only speculate about the LTVAs for this winter. The season pass time normally starts in Sept or Oct.
I kind of felt the same way. Just thought someone might have heard something. Thanks for the response. Yeah we saw the lava flows in Oregon near sisters. It was pretty awe inspiring! Actually saw it accidentally taking what we thought was a shortcut [emoji3]
I remember ... stumbled onto MacKenzie Lava Fields, like finding a goldmine, lol. The entire area of eastern OR and WA, plus a lot in ID, had huge Basaltic flows in the past, so today they are dry and somewhat desert like. A year ago, I went through the "scabland" areas of eastern WA, where the Missoula Floods at the end of the last age sculpted the land, and had a wonderful time ... in case you're still around there. Highly recommended. And Pahlouse Falls, wow.
Leaving Oregon Monday but will make note of that information, thank you! Got to drive back to Missouri for Dr.’s and check up on my brother and visit grandson. Hate the drive!
It consists of cinders and cinder cones, with only a few minor lava flows in evidence, the largest of which is north of **** Pot. But you won't find that name on the maps, since the USGS will only refer to it as SP Hill. **** Pot was the location for many machinegun shooting events back in the day, before everything got moved to Big Sandy where they do that now.
