My boss is sending me to a conference at the Sheraton in Boston. He knows I travel in the van and asked if I would commute to save hotel costs! I'm cool with it except... where do I park? If I'm not registered at the hotel I can't park there. And garages are out with this thing at 10.5' high.

I'm worried it's a deal breaker if I have to chance my van in some sketchy location all day while I'm in meetings.

Google images of the hotel show that there's a paid parking lot directly across the street from the hotel that would be okay for daytime parking.

As to overnight, commute from somewhere out in the suburbs where you can park at either a truck stop or a w/m, Costco, etc. etc. Either that or find a campground outside of the city that you can get a spot in...you'll likely want that so that you can have a shower.

Are You at the Sheraton @ 39 Dalton St. ?
There is a 60 space Open Lot at at 53 Belvidere St. for $28.00 for 12 Hrs.
The garages seem t be too low , and the other open lots are Valet Lots .

How many days will You be here for ?
For just one or two night's , You could sleep in the Walmart parking lot in Framingham ( there are Trucks and RV's there every night ) , then either drive in , or park at a local train/subway station and take a train or subway in .
( Riverside is Manned , the other T stations unmanned and are Pay By Phone to park as of this week )

Another choice , if here a couple of days would be to stay at Normandy Farms Camping Resort in Foxboro and with a short 25 mi ride to riverside station , park and take the subway in , or a 5 min. taxi ride to take a train from Mansfield .
Basic Tent sites around $ 41 up to $ 66 for elect and cable .

And You can take your shower in one of the air conditioned rest rooms before jumping into one of the pools or hot tubs .

Another Option for camping

They also suggest parking RV's at Riverside and taking the T , for Prudential Center area .

If the conference is at the hotel, you should be able to park there to attend it. I have never been to a conference at a hotel that they charge or won't let conference guests park... Did you talk to the hotel already?

According to there website
Event parking is $ 38.00 for 4 to 8 hours of parking , and after 8 hours the fee for over 6 ft. high or 17 ft long , goes to $ 92.00 ( there oversize /Overnight rate .)

There are only a few oversize spaces available , thus the reason I suggested he stay out of downtown Boston .
