Ok, sorry for the delay but here is my story:
My Girlfriend's Mom lived in Nome and since my GF's job was ending, her Mom invited us to live with her and we'd be able to save all of the money we earned. So, we managed to get tickets and flew up.
The homes in Nome are all the same, very narrow, long houses with a second floor. Our bedroom was downstairs, across from the bath room.
A few months after we got there, my Girlfriend and I were the only ones home and she was taking a shower. She hadn't been in too long when she came flying out of the bathroom and plopped herself down by me, wrapped in a towel, hair dripping. She was also white as a ghost....well, paler than usual. She was pretty white
She said nothing was wrong when I asked so I let it go, she was kind of high strung....
By this time we were pretty much experiencing 24 hour sunlight so I had nailed a thick piece of fabric over the small window in our bedroom.
A few nights later I woke up to my GF elbowing me and hissing 'Wake Up!'. I mumbled something to her and she said 'Listen'!
I have always had pretty good hearing and I heard footsteps, starting at our bedroom door, around our bed and they stopped where the window was. The footsteps were really clear as I had a habit of reading the newspaper in bed and putting them on the floor for a couple of days before picking them up.
I was still half asleep and said 'That's just Bela', our Chihuahua-Dachshund mix. I moved my foot and Bela, who was underneath the huge pile of blankets in bed next to my foot, growled.
At that instant, the half inch fabric that I had nailed to the wall with 6 nails, was ripped from the wall....
So, footsteps that weren't my dog going from our bedroom door to the opposite side of the bed next to the window, then a fabric covering that was nailed to the bed being ripped off the wall. The room was instantly brightly lit and nothing was there.
I know this sounds really crazy but I.....went back to sleep. For a little while, then woke with a start and looked at my girlfriend in the now well lit bedroom. She was wide eyed and wide awake
We got her Mom up and was then advised that the previous owner had ended her life outside our door. My GF then told me the reason she had come out of the bathroom that day was that while in the shower she heard the door open, and when she opened the shower curtain, an old Native woman was looking at her. The previous owner had been an old Native.
We left about a week later.
