My wife and I have been looking for our new home on wheels, we are planning to get something but have not settled on what it is just yet.<br>We found a couple of converted buses and one factory bus looked at a very expensive truck conversion and several cheaper ones.<br>Our goal is to have something that can boondock for a long time, we are planning on solar and big holding tanks.<br>We are patient and passed on a couple of great deals because they were not exactly right for us.<br>It is funny how what we think is right for us changes as we learn more and see different rigs.<br><br>This one we looked at the other day they want $5000 for it but I really think someone could get it for less, it is to long for us <br><br>here is my wifes little blog where she is kind of tracking what we are looking at<br>http://theramble.us/<br><br>here is where we found this bus for sale<br>http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Cust...PageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&amp;forcev4exp=true<br>he is a country singer <br><br>one of these days we will find the right one for us!
 
Looks nice but he sure doesn't tell you much about it. I assume the engine is a 4108. But at 5000 or under it would be a steal around here, NW Florida.

it is the detroit diesel 6v71 has the 4 speed and a jake brake aluminum wheels but needs tires<br>I honestly believe if someone handed him 2000 they would drive away with it
 
the bus looks nice,&nbsp; but out west wouldn't do well boondocking/offroad to much overhang behind rear axle and wheel base is to long, &nbsp;easy to high center.&nbsp; would make a great highway cruiser.&nbsp; &nbsp;highdesertranger

I would be checking to see if it has a highway spec diff ratios as a lot of converted "TRANSIT" buses aren't geared for hwy use. I don't know but you might like travelling down the superslab at 45mph, it is nice to have taller gearing for overtaking and&nbsp;fuel economy though. <BR>You always know where you've been with a Detroit.</EM></SPAN><BR><SPAN style="COLOR: #333333"><EM>Geoff<BR><BR>PS Now that $750 000 Prevost on you blog........ highdesertranger glad you said that about the over hand and ground clearance, we looked at a heck of a deal wanderlodge but while we were standing there about to make a move on it we started discussing the ground clearance and the tag and it being 44 ft long from bumper to bumper and decided good deal but we would be stuck on the highway and walmart parking lot.<br><br>I remember one truck Dad had when I was growing up having a tag and it was good but if you did not pay attention you could get hung up.<br><br>rokguy you are right about the gears, he told me you have to keep the speed down to keep the heat where it should be.<br><br>
