What a great job you did -- very creative with the grey water tank idea -- and you're giving your kids priceless memories. Kudos to you for doing something completely different!

Well after 43 days, 4248.1 miles and 16 states we have completed our first trip with Farold. What a great ride it was! This is the first time in my life I am not happy to be home, lol. I see fulltiming in our future!

Here is a pic of a Google Map that I created showing about where we went:

Great conversion. The best part for me was that you did it with your son.

It has been a while since I posted here so I figured I would give a little update.

We got Farold painted, added an A/C unit as well as a 7000 watt generator.

WOW! You guys did a fair bit of traveling. I'll bet it was fun.
You guys have a 7K generator now? How often do you have to run it?
-Bruce

We are planning a trip down to Tennessee at the end of the month and then not sure where from there. I would really like to become a snowbird and live at our seasonal campground in Wisconsin during the summer and anywhere but Wisconsin in the winter.

As far as the generator it is a 7000 watt and we really only need to run it if we need the A/C running or to run the hot water heater as that is electric also and take about 1400 watts to run. Otherwise the solar panels and batteries are enough to keep up with the fridge and other items.

Thanks for the nice comments!

Hey, I didn't check the whole thread earlier and missed the holding tank setup. Very nice!

Thank you! I think the holding tanks are one of the better features of the bus. With the six of us we can go about a week without needing to dump which is nice!

Outstanding job on the build, and I too especially love you holding tank design! (I might just hafta do that for mysself)

Where in Wisconsin are you from?? I was raised in Appleton, and now live on the Oregon Coast.

Very Nice! I had an ole, I believe it was a 1970, International back in the mid nineties. Oh how I miss that monster. I did a lot to convert it while living in it up in NC. However, my was more of an open concept design... lol - mostly due to my lack of carpentry skills..... but, it was nice (wood floor, interior paneling, gas heater, A/C D/C TV, etc.)... But not nearly as decked out as yours.

Most school bus conversions I've seen look like a hodge podge of a mess. But your one looks really nice. Well done!
