Well, I went down there and looked around...right at the exact spot from the map, there was some hydro line repair, so I couldn't get to that part, but didn't see anything from my explorations...so not sure what's up. Maybe seller will get back to me...

I'll be there for you.
Dorcus, We CAN find that van:
We'll bring my search and rescue dog. She will sniff out that van. We will give her the scent of green roof algae, give her the command to find a high top, and we'll all follow her nose. We can circle around that neighborhood like a pack of wild wolves and go in for the kill!

Sounds like a fun hunt. How the heck can anyone hide a van from this bunch??
It would be a good chance for a BBQ and some cold beers too.

Hippiechk was cute. We will make her our "beer wench". She will hand out the ice, cold beer and will keep a " running tab" that requires a signature. But, when the seller signs it, it's and legal agreement for a free and clear title.

Greetings!

Camper vans tend to be overly expensive everywhere and most have terrible layouts for vandwellers.

That's why I usually prefer to start with any old plain window van, and build it myself. Plain van + several hundred dollars and you'll have a winner, and typically save $5k or more in the process.

Cheers!

I think that may be a US thing. At least in Vancouver RV/Camper vans are an expensive luxury unless you're a vandweller.
Insurance runs 1200$/year or more easily, they have to qualify for air care unless they're over 5000kg GVRW, parking is expensive and hard to find if you're downtown, plus there's a lot more break ins.
cargo/window only vans tend to hold their value because they're multi-purpose and useful. They also tend to get used quite hard.
The really good deals on camper-vans come and go quickly, but I've seen nice diesel ones go for 4000$ with new batteries and a decent interior, and two friends have bought good high-roof ones, one for 1200$ one for 800$, while comparable high roof non campers were higher mileage and higher price. Those good deals were all listed for less than a day, people jump on them right away but they do turn up.
Here on the island parking is cheap, insurance is cheap, and campers seem to hold value, because it's easier to hang on to them and wait for the right buyer.
