Hello! My name is joshua sikorski, i've browsed the  forums here and there for a little while, but haven't introduced myself.

My wife and I are recently owners of a 2016 Shasta Oasis 18FQ that we purchased a few days ago. For now we are currently parked on the side of a relatives house while we keep saving to leave on the road in October.

Just wanted to say its nice to officially be part of a group that lives an unconventional lifestyle and are happier for it!

Cheers.

well right off the bat, we are gonna head down south, probably destin florida for just a week, since we won't be leaving till october we are gonna be due for some beach relaxation... then its west... well south west you know... until spring.

Def plan to get some solar on there, thinking maybe just 200W with a 1000w inverter. Have already started on a bucket composting system, but in a couple weeks we are buying a C-head composting toilet, just because it seems simpler, But that will be about it.

Welcome. I see you also have another thread started on removing the flush toilet. Since you are getting a C-head, you may be interested in a video Bob did of Beth's van conversion -- in which he gets very enthralled with her C-head. LOL

Here's a link to that video:

:D :D

Yes, I did have trouble keeping him and the camera out of the depths of the toilet didn't I...

After 3 months of full-time use, I am still thrilled with the c-Head.

BTW, I've found absolutely no need to plumb in any ventilation system at all so if you're still in the planning stages of the conversion and are concerned about running an exterior vent line, IMO, don't bother.
