I'm wondering if anyone else had a problem like this. I'm camping outside vegas in a recreational zone called Lovell canyon. As usual with my car I have solar panels that I put outside and a battery bank in my car. I left camp this afternoon and was gone most of the day. the two solar panels sat there, not attached to anything.... (as the batteries are mounted in my car) I got back to a note on my tent from a ranger saying I could not have any kind of construction on my site without a permit... and he highlighted solar panels and warned me that next time I'd get a citation. I've been traveling for 5 years doing this and never once have I heard anything so stupid. The panels were supported by short pieces of wood I'd picked up to give an angle to the sun... I cannot in any way, shape or form, count this as any kind of construction or structure on the campsite. He didn't know even who we are or what our car was yes somehow he presumed we didn't have a permit. we don't, but he had no way of knowing that. I'm very annoyed and trying to figure this out. I need power... so I can't think of anything else to do but leave.
