Hey anybody that reads these. My name is Carriebeth. Myself, my son Carter(12), and dog Jack(4) are heading out in our cargo trailer. I want to be part of the solution so I sold my car and quit my job. Bought a Ford Ranger and a 6x12 cargo trailer and got a job with the National Parks. We leave in a couple weeks. I'll be up in Maine til October. Stoked to get started. I'm sure I'll be on here with a bunch of questions, so thanks ahead to those who take the time to answer them. Happy Travels everyone!

Welcome, and congratulations.
I usually spend a couple weeks around Labor Day at Cobscook near Machias, and a few off season along Rte 1 from Portsmouth to Belfast- may run into you some place.

Congrats on your decision! I assume you will be home-schooling your son? What a great educational experience for him! Good luck and keep us informed.

Welcome Carriebeth to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you. highdesertranger

Welcome aboard Carriebeth Carter and Jack !
I've been workamping since '03.
I'm just north of Freeport and will be heading to Acadia this month (before Mem Day) to pick up my Am T Beautiful pass (hope it's still $10).
What job will you have?

Just an office job with the park. No big deal, but I'm excited to start full timing and to be in Acadia.

Hi Welcome and congrats on the job. What an awesome experience for both you and your son. Camping with my Dad in Maine while growing up is what lead me to buy a house and move to Maine. It's a kid's paradise! Post some pics of Acadia once you start your job.

congratulations on your jump to another lifestyle.
be sure to see Moosehead lake while you are up there.
plans for winter - Florida maybe?

PM me when you get there , maybe I can "pop" in and say hi..... Skuh kuh kuh kuh kuh

Moosehead is great and Katahdin too but more than a quick day trip if you want to really enjoy either.
Plan accordingly.

I still have a house and family back home, so probably go back for winter. I'll need to finish my build with the knowledge from my first trip and sell my house if I decide to stick with it. Until my son is older I wouldn't want to take him from my family year around. I read on here about an RTR. Maybe I'd try to go to that. We've never been west so that would certainly be an adventure.
