"...  Residents and visitors to Grant and Luna counties will have seven opportunities to learn about the fall night sky at Stars-N-Parks astronomy programs scheduled at area state parks this fall.

Seven astronomy programs are scheduled: Four at City of Rocks State Park, between Deming and Silver City; and three at Rockhound State Park, near Deming. The National Public Observatory sponsors the Stars-N-Parks astronomy programs..."

This appeals to me too but I'm in southern Ohio.  I've spoken with people here who are trying to develop travel and tourism regarding RV Travelers into the less developed Parks and Historic centers.

What are some of the things others would like to see available to them ?   I can see Astronomy as it lends itself to later evening entertainment,  similar with Ham Radio field days,  Outdoor Drama where history of general areas can be portrayed by young actors/directors etc. (this would support Theater and History Departments of local High Schools, Colleges or Universities, etc),  Cast Iron Cook-Off's, Boy & Girl Scout Expositions, (where each troop creates some exhibit to display a particular skill,  and I could see land development projects in otherwise under developed areas such that small stores, Farmers Markets, (PYO or Pick your Own or Pay to Pick) or tail gate markets,  could establish and benefit from a central market.   I'm sure other support small businesses could
establish around these areas.

What ideas would you have,  or things you've seen in the past, for things you would like to see made available in the parks.   Some of these things could be weekend Family Camping oriented and others through the week nights for Seniors, or others who are traveling or vacationing ?

eDJ, I think you would get more responses in a new thread.
