Hello,
I've been following this site and the associated you tube videos for some time. I recently retired at the ripe age of 53 and I decided to take the plunge. I purchased my rig in Feb of 2016 and actually moved into it full time two weeks ago. I couldn't quite do the van life so I purchased a 26 foot travel trailer. I've gotten rid of 99.9% of my things and my house is on the market. I couldn't believe how much stuff I had! I had ten years worth of junk in the house and even more in an 11x20 storage unit. Much was sold and donated. I kicked out my son and gave much to him for his apartment. Funny, I kept telling my son that I was going to go mobile and to find his own place. He didn't believe I would actually do it. Then it hit him when I rolled up to the house with my rig in tow!
I was a little apprehensive but the more I thought about living mobile, the more I knew it was right for me. I want to see the country while I can and enjoy it. I also want to live under the radar of the government. I've taken a few short hops and loved it. My first trip I was in a Texas State park. There was no Cell service or Internet. At first, I thought I was going to have a stroke from not being connected but as the days went on, I found I could live without cell service and the internet. I'm in a local RV park until my home sells and I wrap a few things up. Once the house sells, I'm hitting the road. I can't make the Flagstaff RTR in June 2016 but I will most definitely be in Quartzsite for the Jan 2017 RTR!
