Hello my name's herb from the East Coast.  I'm partial to cold weather but I'm also in the process of looking at RV's looking into going to RV lifestyle been living out of my Ford excape for about a year-and-a-half now and it has been a challenge.
Some of the things I'm interested in is boondocking on the East Coast from Pennsylva to Florida and as far as 500-750 miles west of route 95.
Looking for sites on this side of the country again I'm new at the RV part of living. you can send me any Maps or sites that would be good for me to look at appreciate it.

Thanks
Herb

Welcome to the CRVL forums Herb!  This is one of the best sites for cheap and free camping - https://freecampsites.net/
Since dispersed camping is permitted in national forests try this one too -  http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/programs/ohv/ohv_maps.shtml
It's tougher to boondock in the east but it can be done! Let us know how it works out for you.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started.   We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome aboard Herb!
rvwandering gave you some good camp finding sites.
Google Earth and a good atlas will help you locate them.
If you have any other questions just ask away.

Welcome to the boards!

I spent 20 years bouncing around the east coast....from Miami to Boston.

I can only say that you will have a hard time going unnoticed in an RV. There isn't really any places you can legally park/camp for free overnight except large retailers. (Some of those parking lots are really sketchy).

Maybe a high top van would fit your need better? RV is just too noticeable.

Welcome to the CRVL Forums   :)

Let me invite you to view the bottom site in my signature lines.   There are several trip planning ap's in it
and links to sites that will help you find find camping spaces and planning trips with the options of side trips
along the way to interesting places.

It may be just what you're hunting for.

All the best !

Welcome to the forum. What kind of RV are you thinking of?

My wife and I have been living and traveling in our 18.5-foot fifth wheel since the end of June mostly boondocking. These are the sites use to find campsites.

For boondocking in Florida, keep the water management areas in mind. We have yet to check them out and I don't have the links bookmarked , but I remember reading a post on this site about them. Maybe someone here can post that link.

Below are links to a couple of my blog posts about boondocking locations in the east. Please keep in mind this blog is aimed at family and friends so don't expect professional quality photos or spellbinding stories.
